Beautiful shimmering dichroic glass creates this pretty piece from my Mexican Window Collection.

The colors are very dramatic, smooth beautiful pinks and lavender blue green.

I don't use any decals, dyes or paints or pre cut glass. All of my work is carefully hand cut in small pieces and then, pieced back together again in a pattern I like.

Dichroic glass was created by NASA for the space program. The glass is coated with unique metal properties and once fired at a high temperature, the metal adheres permanently to the glass. It then has the capability of both reflecting and transmitting colors. The colors shimmer and change dramatically as the light hits them.

Dichroic glass is the most exotic medium I have ever worked with. It is very seductive and its sparkling colors, which come to life while firing, allow for endless color possibilities.

'Calle Sin Nombre' is a quiet dirt road that leads up to the hills surrounding Alamos. It's an old road and has no name. Walking this quiet road gives me a real sense of peace and wonder. I listen to the birds and look for jackrabbits on the way....very quiet.
