  • Materials: Hardened and Wear Resistant Stainless Steel

At CoinRingUSA®, we uphold the highest standards by sourcing only the best quality material and highly skilled craftsmanship when making our coin ring tools.

That’s why all CoinRingUSA® brand of folding/reduction dies are precision-smoothed, buffed, and then hand-polished to a superior finish on the inside die walls using a multi-step process that results in the most consistent and effective folding and reduction of any coin to make into a coin ring on the market.

NEW! 1.7" x 1.8" MEGA (17° taper) Universal Folding and Reduction die Description:

For those Monster-sized Challenge Coins, rounds, tokens or medallions, this new “MEGA” Folding and Reduction Die picks up where the previous-largest die (at 1.5” x 1.6” in diameter) left off.

With the advent of the “Swedish Wrap Method”, many of the larger coins (such as Challenge Coins) that are often 1.75” in outer diameter can now be easily folded over using this new die.

This newest double-sided Universal folding and reduction die has a 1.7" opening on one side, and a 1.8" opening on the other side, and is machined at 17° degrees, which is crucial for the initial folding and reducing when making coin rings. Folding is best done with the new improved stainless steel folding cones and spacer set, (each wrapped in pipe thread tape), for complete preservation of the inner detail of each coin.

*** Here are some reviews received about my coin ring tools:

"Martin saved my life. Again. Okay, maybe it wasn't quite that serious, but I had a gap in my dies that I didn't expect. This monster ring is at least twice as thick as a regular challenge coin and I think slightly larger in diameter. I did one without the proper die and for a few rounds with it, I wasn't quite sure who was going to win. Fortunately, I did, but I am seeing to it that the odds are in my favor next time. Thanks, Brother!"

This new MEGA folding/reduction die will work under any arbor or hydraulic shop press.

*** It will also fit under the newer model Durston ring sizer machine (with the larger square one-piece handle) without any modification.

*** If you have the OLDER Durston model ring sizer (with the thinner, round screw-in handle), you can either remove the center pin that holds the reducing wheel in place to use this new die, or; you can remove the small amount of metal stock located at the base of the ring sizer immediately behind the reducing wheel by simply filing it down. (Listing photos 2 and 3 show the MEGA die being used on my older model Durston ring sizer machine after the filing modification with the center pin still intact).

(See the last listing photo for reference of the pen pointing to the small area that needs to be filed down.)

*Please be aware that any modifications that you make to your ring sizer machine could void the warranty if your machine still has one in effect.

If you have another brand of ring sizer machine, simply make sure that you have at least 1.940” of clearance under the ram head to use this MEGA die. This is best measured with a pair of digital calipers.

(Coin and arbor press are not included and are meant for reference only).
