Description

Behold.....the Fink Foot!

I titled this sculpture "LUCKY?" .... its a large oversized "keychain" (that can not be used as a keychain ;/ ) One of the best features of this sculpture is that it will not be ignored or dismissed. It was not made to blend into your décor. Its a unique item that will start conversations ( hopefully not about my nuttiness )....

The foot is approximately 8 inches long (from the big toe nail to the heel). 5 inches from the heel to the top of the ankle cap....and just over 4 inches at the widest point.

So...if you are reading this I'm sure a little back story might interest you. I dig Rat Fink...and pretty much everything Ed "Big Daddy" Roth created. That's probably not breaking news by now. Once again I have taken inspiration from something from the past and put my personal spin on it. I was thinking about all those Kool Kustoms he used to build and what kind of keychain would hold the keys. It would never be a simple "lucky rabbits foot" or generic FOB....right? So I went on a daydream or two....and came up with a "life size" FINK foot. Potentially lucky for the owner....even though the "donor" did not fair so well. That's just one of the reasons its purple.

This was originally made for a Kustom Kulture art show in Japan....shortly upon its arrival Japan was hit with a horrible earthquake. In a long turn of events it found its way back to me here in the U.S. where I have kept it in my personal collection until now.

The sculpture was made out of clay, when I was satisfied I made a mold and cast the sculpture with polyester resin which was then painted by hand. The ankle cap is a separate cast piece that is permanently attached to the foot. The ball chain is a metal oversized version (the balls are 3/8" in diameter).

Please contact me with questions if you have them....who knows...maybe you will get " LUCKY ? "
