1960's organza and cotton party apron by WaveSong on Etsy. An apron for partying in the Mad Men Era way. A unique choice of fabric; powder blue organza and red and white flowered cotton, mixed with white and metallic gold ric rac trim, makes this apron particularly a one-of-a-kind 1960s era cover-up. Throwing a party with martinis and shrimp cocktail, even tomato aspic, chaffing dish sweet and sour meatballs and green bean casserole and you must wear this frilly apron over top of your teeny black dress with real hose, not pantyhose.

Women wore aprons all the time in the kitchen. But you wouldn't show up at a party in your everyday working apron. A hostess should always have a clean apron for every party.
Or make your own elegant hostess frilly apron with this pattern in my shop. http://www.etsy.com/listing/41160460/elegant-hostess-apron-mad-men-era
