Description

Ain't gonna study war no more... Down by the Riverside... Gonna lay down my sword and shield...

Listening to this song and drawing, I started this sketch when my son was three or four years old and imagined what not studying war could look like for him... that the pages of war would be folded into paper cranes that turn into real birds when set free. This is what I hear when I listen to this song.

This is a digital reproduction of an illustration and linocut. Printed by my favorite local Portland printers Paperjam Press on 100% recycled cardstock.

Print is 8x10", so it is the perfect size for framing.

About me an my work: I am a printmaker with over a decade of experience. I mostly work in linocut, a technique of carving into prepared linoleum. The raised parts of the linoleum are inked in a process known as relief printing.

Copyright loaded hips press. Not transferable with purchase.
