"Especially good use for all griefs and pains of the head and brain." - John Parkinson- 1640

The Latin name of lavender is Lavare, which means “to wash”, due to its aroma which has a particularly clean scent. This is why many astringents or washes has lavender in them historically. This is one of the most well known herbs in history and has been popular medicinal herb for centuries. In Arab Medicine, lavender was used as an expectorant and antispasmodic. European folk traditions used it to heal wounds. This is a wonderful herb to use topically for burns and stings plus the bugs aren't a fan of it!! *win win*. I wouldn't recommend taking Lavender oil internally without a Dr.'s supervision- but general teas are ok. Lavender is great for infections as well as calming and easing tension. But on the flip side it makes a delicious cookies and breads too!! Lavender flowers are approved by the German Commission E for promoting both a healthy mood and healthy circulation. The scent of lavender has shown to have positive effects on mood within certain adult populations and can help to alleviate mild feelings of agitation or distress. In the Renaissance periods- lavender was often added to wedding sachets because it was believed that it would being stability to the union and increase fidelity.

Note: With these recipes and products being all natural and organic as well as historical- they are prone to change consistency in varying weather conditions. That does not take away from their potency or their quality- it just means that it's a natural product without any chemical additives. All Our products may melt. We can't guarentee what consistency they will arrive in during the summer months. If this happens- put them in the fridge and give them a stir once cool.
