Silk Shibori Scarf Green Orange and Brown
Description
This is a silk scarf hand dyed using Shibori techniques. It takes many processes to build up the layers of color and design in a scarf like this. The scarf was dyed green, then clamped with a circle shape and discharged, over dyed with yellow, then clamped with a larger circle, discharged and over dyed with orange. I then stitched around each circle, gathered it and wrapped it with thread, discharged again and over dyed with brown. There is an orange blip on one of the circles where the silk got caught up in the gathers. This imperfection reflects the beauty of hand made items. The last picture shows the silk stitched and gathered before the final dye bath.
The scarf is approximately 8" by 52". It is easy care, just hand wash and line dry, press as needed.

This cotton/linen shawl, with beaded edge, is elegant and exquisitely handmade! It wraps and drapes well and provides just enough warmth to take the chill off!
