Description

A fabulous hand made RAKU ring holder with fumed White Crackle glaze.
I made this ring holder in my NY studio on my potters wheel.
It measures 3x3"
RAKU is an ancient Japanese technique where the ceramic item is glazed and fired in a kiln then it is brought up to 1800' F , it is sprayed with a chemical which gives it luster and is immediately put into a chamber with combustible material where all the oxygen in the chamber is reduced. This gives the smokey crackle appearance .
