Believe it or not, the Celtic cross and the cross in general dates back to pre-Christian times. It was a symbol of the sun and also represented to changing of the seasons. It also represented the meeting of divine energies. It was used by many pagan peoples throughout the world. The cross didn't become a Christian symbol until it was co-opted by the Roman emperor Constantine in the year 312.
I took these crosses and added a glass bead for added color. They dangle about 1 3/4 inches.
