This fabulous bright vintage toy is a colorful tin lithograph Junior Dial typewriter by Marx Toys, manufactured in the 1940s to early 1950s. It's black with bright orange and yellow accents. The keyboard is all for show; it works by turning the dial to the letter or punctuation mark, then pressing down on the lever. There's another button for leaving a space (or moving the carriage). The typewriter has 40 steel type indentations, a self-inking carriage, and uses standard paper. It has two decals with the Marx logo (MAR with an X through it)

The typewriter wheel still moves and types with a satisfying click, but the ink is no longer working. Two plastic knobs (the left one is broken) turn to thread the paper in, but it's tough to do. This could use some oiling up and work, but I can't guarantee it will ever work well. It has some rust and scratches, but the colors are still bright--a fabulous display piece or addition to your toy collection.

Size: 11 inches wide x 8 inches deep x 7 inches tall (28 x 20.2 x 17.8 cm)
