Beautiful, detailed French glass jewelry casket - I've also seen these called a "Whistling Casket" (don't ask me why).

Still retains the original red velvet lining/solid bottom. This larger casket (one of two I'm listing) would have been for a gentleman's pocket watch. The two I have were purchased at an estate auction - the family came over from the area of Reims, France in 1910.

In excellent condition, stands solidly on all four delicate, detailed legs, however, is a bit out of 'true' - someone experienced with these fragile jewelry boxes could gently straighten it but the lean is very slight. NO cracks or crazing; I cleaned two of the filigree supports to show how the shine would come through with a full polishing.

Truly a glittering gem - and these are becoming very rare. Comparable jewelry caskets at other sites start at $175 or more. Measures 3 3/4" tall/13cm by 2 3/4" square - 7cm
