Description

-8" wood bodied tambourine
-Single row of cymbals
-Natural skin head

I hand paint each tambourine individually with henna. All designs are my own. What is henna, you say? Or maybe you don't, but in the event that you do:

Henna is a natural plant paste made from the henna plant, lemon juice, and assorted oils (the oil(s) depend on the preference of the person mixing it). The raised design that you see on the tambourines is the dried henna paste. As henna dries, it leaves a beautiful brownish/reddish/sometimes gold-ish stain behind.

If you prefer to use the tambourine as home decor, you can leave the dried paste on the tambourine (it will flake off naturally overtime). If you would like the tambourine as a fully functional instrument (which it is!) you can leave the paste on and let it flake off with use or gently scrape it off with your hands or an old identification or credit card. Either way, the stain lies beneath! So the design you see is permanent :)

Tambourines hate the rain! They are natural enemies. It is important that you keep your tambourine dry. The heads of the tambourines are made from natural skin, and the natural skin when wet becomes very delicate. Other than that, just enjoy!
