A collection of pre bar code spice containers housed in a salvaged frame covered in hand written recipes from the 1960's.

This piece measures 12 x 12 x 2 inches.

These spice tins and boxes are carefully arranged and set in a frame that hints of days gone by when home cooking happened every night. Good recipes were shared with friends and family, carefully written down and kept in special recipe card boxes. Although I didn't know this cook, I couldn't let her collection get tossed out. She must have spent decades amassing these recipes. I took home three file boxes packed full of index cards, newspaper clippings, recipes cut from the sides of boxes and some written on random scraps of paper - probably all that she had at that moment.

Starter set of 60's and 70's spice containers
