This Burroughs Class 3 Adding Machine is on it's way to becoming a true 100 year old antique.

The Burroughs Class 3 Adding Machines, having a low keyboard, was also called the "visible model" because for the first time the operator could see the printing unlike the Class 1 and 2. Made orginally by the Pike Adding Machine company, Orange, New Jersey, and bought out by Burroughs in 1909, the Class 3 became a very popular adding machine.

Each machine had a serial number stamped on it's base. Serial number 3-608509 is stamped on the front base of this Burroughs Class 3 Adding Machine. According to the research I did the Class 3 with serial numbers from the 600000 range were manufactured in approximately December, 1919. I have no history for this particular machine, when it was sold, and for what it's uses over the years have been.

The physical description is one in which there are some scratches and paint chips (I guess 91 years can do that!). There are no missing keys, and all the moving parts appear to move. I can't verify if they move in an accurate fashion, as I'm not an expert on old adding machines. Sold as is.

This machine weighs approximately 50 pounds (not your modern day calculator!), and as such the shipping costs alot. To keep cost as inexpensive as possible this will be shipped parcel post by the USPS. Insurance is included. Canadian and International shipping available. Contact me for details.

This would make a great nostalgic Americana addition for old business machine buffs and collectors.
