"Let It Shine" incorporates two Judaic themes:

1) The Image: "Echad"/"One" from the Shma (Deuteronomy 4:6). How do we manifest our gifts for the world's betterment? By turning to the One, the One Power, the One Love. Rabbi Rolando Matalon says, "One plus one equals One."

2) The Watercolor Background: Based on Kabbalistic word "Khokhma"/Wisdom. I painted the "khet" of "khokhmah" and the full word on a background and then dispersed the color with water. Chabad chassidim say that "Khokhmah" represents the genesis of an idea, the pinpoint from which it grows, because "Khokhmah" can be parsed into "Ko-akh Ma" -- "The Power of What" -- the power of possibility.

May this coming 5777 bring beautiful, powerful possibilities -- and actualities -- to us all.
