VINTAGE LEATHER HANDBAG
This genuine vintage handbag was beautifully crafted from embossed chestnut brown leather and suede in England in the 1940/50's. It has a classic A-Frame shaped design with decorative leather flap detail on the front panel. The purse opens stylishly with a gold tone metal and leather rolled top which is inset with a decorative gold tone clasp. It folds out beautifully to allow you to put your purse, etc inside.
The bag is of quality construction with a leather body and handle, suede insides, sturdy metal frame and gold tone fittings. It has a metal zip compartment and two pockets inside, all skilfully stitched. The strong decorative metal clasp snaps open and shut firmly. Four metal stud 'feet' are on the underside, to protect the leather.
It has a 'Guaranteed real leather, Made in England' label inside.
The leather is in excellent condition and I have polished it with dubbin (used for reviving leather) and it now has a beautiful sheen.
This beautiful vintage handbag is in such condition it was probably only used for special occasions. I found an Oswestry, Shropshire parking ticket from the 1940 's inside it - this will come with it being part of its 'story'.
It would make an absolutely gorgeous present for a vintage lover who can enjoy using it everyday!
