This artwork is a reproduction of Southern California artist Matthew Allen's surf art. This artwork was created for Matthew's 2016 Aloha art show at Greenroom Hawaii. The former Surfer Magazine Art Director is also the co-creator of the now retired boutique surf brand The Ryde. Much of his fine art and photography revolves around beach and surf culture. Matthew spends his days shooting photos and making art as well as creating illustrations for clients such as Ford Motor Company, Crate and Barrel, Pottery Barn, Ron Herman, Champion, Vans, Bon Appetit, Food and Wine, and the Anaheim Ducks. Most of his other waking hours are spent surfing and making music.

I saw Matt’s work at the SpringHill Suites in Oceanside and I really like it. While we don’t live near the ocean, his work reminds us of visits to better weather and casual times. He sent a personal note that I appreciated—I will be buying more in the future. I redid my wife’s bedroom for Christmas and this print fits right in. The print came packaged well although it was slightly bent by the delivery person—still worked great.
