Handcrafted with tiny red lip shell heishi, block stabilized turquoise heishi and tiny copper seed beads in a very traditional native american style called "jocla". Beaded on waxed cord, these earrings have a really nice "hang" to them in a long teardrop shape.
These particular earrings are beaded with very tiny beads and heishi, so even though they are quite long they are not large or bulky at all.
Jacla / Jocla's and were used as earrings but they would also hang them on their necklaces. Jacla is Navajo for “ear string”. Although jocla's are attributed to the Rio Grande Pueblo Indians, they were traded with other tribes and became associated with the Navajo tribes as well.
Length: approx. 4 1/4" long including copper ear wire. See picture with ruler for more accurate sizing.
***Due to health/hygiene reasons, I CAN NOT accept returns or exchanges on earrings. So please be sure you check the size in the picture I have provided for sizing and if you have any questions, please contact me before you purchase.***
