Description

Sterling silver encased nail polisher. The stamps show it was made in Birmingham in 1924, England.

This unusual piece is a wonderful find. It is in such good condition.

The casing has a machined design, almost a 'sunburst', very typical of the Art Deco era. No dents or damage to the silver.

It has very clear hallmarks, making me think it has had very little use even though it is over 90 years old.

The polisher, made of suede, is in superb condition showing very little use. It is 3.5" long and 1" across.

There is a hook at one end, also silver, which may mean that this piece was part of a 'Chatelaine'. A chatelaine being a group of small instruments, ( scissors, keys, etc. ) held onto a belt that would be worn by the Mistress of the house.

A beautiful piece.

I combine shipping costs when I can.
