Description

This unique wheel thrown stoneware pitcher is a one of a kind piece. The main body of the piece has two wheel thrown attachments, one collar to enable the attachment of the handle and one funnel attached for the spout. The piece is glazed with cone 6 lead free glaze and is food safe.

The handle is Black Locust wood, or more commonly known as 'prickly ash'. This is an invasive species and I continually remove it from our property. I also try to recycle as much of the wood as possible.

Each wood handle is carefully selected, dried, trimmed, shaped, sanded and stained. Then a minimum of three coats of sealant in applied before it is glued with a secret glue and pinned with a dowel to the ceramic piece.

This system has proven to be extremely durable as I have used mugs for years and the handles still look like new.

The size of this price is approximately 7.5in x 5.5diameter and from spout to handle its 10in. The pitcher hold about 32oz.

All proceeds from BuckHorn Pottery go to keep Cornerstone Counseling, a ministry of East Lincoln Alliance Church in Amery, WI up and running.
