Description

17x11 original photo print of Floyd, a rescued dog with quote by William Butler Yeats, "Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire." I found this quote in "1,001 Smartest Things Ever Said", by Steven D Price. "In December 1923, Yeats was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature, [for his always inspired poetry, which in a highly artistic form gives expression to the spirit of a whole nation]" — Wikipedia. I chose to use this quote with this picture of Floyd because there is so much I have learned from walking these dogs, and I believe the quote describes what truly great teachers do.

When kids are given the opportunity to excel in school, or through wonderful online systems, www.khanacademy.org for example, they have success that can create more equality, progress and a stronger, better future for everyone. The image of the dog may not seem like a natural choice, but you'd be surprised how valuable animals are in providing unconditional love and don't we all need more of that. And happy to report Floyd has been adopted.

• Wisdom of Irish poet William B Yeats
• Great gift for teachers and students alike
• Ideal image to foster creativity

The print is designed to fit in ready-made 16"x20" frame. Thank you for visiting my shop. The prints are sent rolled in a cardboard sleeve. I haven't begun to sell them framed, but that is coming.
