Description

The idea for this new series of enamels came from doing a special order for a client based on a dream she had had. I have always been fascinated with the history of Runes, and how an ancient people used what are basically the letters of an alphabet to tell the story of their mythology.

Though runes were used in the past for divination, I was more interested in the rune poems which informed their interpretation. Being also interested in making objects imbued with meaning I decided to let the runes inspire these new designs which came from exploring dimension and movement

I am also interested in complex and many faceted meanings - so with these Runes I present only the Rune poem, so you can interpret it yourself

Gebo (gift)

Generosity brings credit and honour, which support one's dignity;
it furnishes help and subsistence
to all broken men who are devoid of aught else.

This piece is made in the technique of champleve, a complex five day process. Each part was first hand shaped with a hammer and then cut and etched. It is made with copper and vitreous enamel, which has been fired from 5 to 7 times. The two parts are enameled on the back (counter-enamelled) and the 'bowl' is signed.

The piece is approx 1 1/4 " square and the chain is 18". This length can be adjusted.

    I got the green one and it's very beautiful. It's a good sturdy chain, too.

    I ordered during the holiday season, which is always a busy time, and the seller was very communicative. She responded promptly to questions and kept me informed regarding shipping.

    The necklace itself is beautiful, truly a work of art. I'm very happy with my purchase!

Shipping policies

In Canada I use expedited shipping, which is guaranteed in three days across Canada.
Sadly I can't guarantee times for my American customers, as shipments might at any time be held by customs. International shipping is very expensive, slow and un-trackable methods can be used (your choice - just contact me) but you have to accept the liability. For the record I have never had a single package go astray.
