Description

This photogram is a partial image of a lovely piece on vintage lace. It is printed on 16x20, resin-coated, silver gelatin paper. Signed on the back.

This photogram can be matted, per request. There will be an additional charge and another 3-5 days needed.

Most photograms can be created as a white image on a black background, a black image on a white background, a sepia image on a white background or a white image on a sepia background. Please allow another 3-5 days.

There may be a border on your image. If you have a border preference other than what's pictured, please let us know. Another 3-5 days may be needed.

Your 16 x 20 original photogram will arrive in a clear plastic sleeve, rolled within a mailing tube. We print our photograms on a sturdy, resin-coated paper. And while they look fantastic in a frame, they’ll hold up well without a frame, too. Use binder clips or vintage pant hangers and hang them on a nail. Use t-pins or upholstery tacks and pin them directly to the wall. With these simple hanging methods, they have great visual impact on their own, in pairs, or in a gallery wall.

All our photograms are made by hand, with no computer involvement. We use items found in nature. There will be "imperfections" because the items we use aren't perfect. Lizards may be missing toes and butterflies may only have one antenna. We use ornate, clear, glass frames as part of our images. These glass frames have "flaws" and unique patterns that are a part of the glass. We make these photograms in a traditional darkroom. There is low-light and we place objects on the paper by hand. They will not be perfectly aligned. We embrace all these unique characteristics and hope you will, too.

A photogram is a shadowlike photographic image made by placing objects between light-sensitive paper and a light source. We make our photograms with things we find in the marsh, on the beach, in the garden, up the mountains, under the bed, at Grandma's house or anywhere else we find something fun. Our original photograms are made the old-fashioned way; in a traditional darkroom with a dreamy red light. When we're on a creative roll we like to do the happy darkroom-dance; letting our light shine . . . even in the dark.
