This is a replica of a Kievan cross dating from the 10th – 13th Centuries. Crosses of this pattern are found widely among the Rus and Slavs and as far west as Gotland. Widely worn as Christianity began to be adopted in the region, this design combines both the Christian cross idea of the lily symbol of resurrection and the much older belief in the solar wheel as the symbol of the regenerative power of the Sun.

Very substantial piece. Larger than I expected. Beautiful quality. So happy I purchased this; they're hard to find in other metals besides silver. I love this and would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a powerful Cimaruta.
