This listing is for the crochet patterns to make 4 versions of a jewish kippah or yarmulke, NOT the actual item.


A kippah, hech cap (US only), or yarmulke (pronounced Ya-mea-kah) (also called a skullcap or kappel) is a thin, slightly-rounded skullcap traditionally worn at all times by observant Jewish men, and sometimes by both men and women in Conservative and Reform communities.

In modern contexts, it is also common for non-religious Jews and non-Jews to wear a simple kippah to cover their heads as a sign of respect, when present at Jewish religious services or at Jewish sites.


Materials Needed
Vanna's Choice Acrylic 3.5oz
Black x1skein for version 1
I Love This Cotton Worsted Weight 2.5oz
Autumn Gold x 1skein for version 2
Red Heart Eco-Cotton- 2.5oz
Candy Marl x1skein for version 2
I used Reynolds Sport 50gr
Cotton Light Blue x1skein for version 3
Dark Blue x1skein for version 3
I used Aunt Lydia's Fashion 3 Crochet Cotton 150yds
white x1skein for version 4
G hook
Yarn needle

Gauge: G hook = 3sc =1"
3sc rows =1"

use some kind of hairpins to hold Kippah in place.
