Full size pattern pieces and fully illustrated instructions for how to build this gorgeous, luggage quality handbag. The pattern is an Adobe Acrobat PDF file that is an instant download as soon as you buy it.

The latest version of Adobe reader will help you poster print the pattern pieces, so you do not have to print it with a 24" wide printer unless you want to. There is a note included with the pattern that walks you through printing at home.

If you want to print the pattern pieces on 24" wide paper so there is no joining paper together, you can do it that way too.

I have explained every step in great detail with illustrations, so you can successfully duplicate this bag in the fabrics of your choice. Measurements are given in inches and in metric.

There are two zippered pockets with my special way of making them that I am sure you will adapt into other bags you make.

The instructions are broken down into units that enable you to make the bag in several shorter sessions, making it easy to pick up where you left off.

This is a bag that you will be proud to carry and glad you made. It is roomy enough for multiple uses, even as a diaper bag.

Outside dimensions: 15" (38cm) wide at the bottom, 10" (25.5cm) tall, and 6"(15.2cm) deep.

Strap drop to top of bag (not to attachment) is 8" (20cm.) A local gal stopped me in the fabric store the other day to show me the great bag she made from this pattern, and she lengthened the straps to have it as a shoulder bag - it looked fabulous!

1 small exterior zippered pocket on side for keys or other small items,
1 larger zippered exterior for other things,
2 more large exterior pockets,
4 interior elasticized pockets to help you organize

In case you want to shop for materials while the pattern is on its way:

-Main Fabric 3/4 yard (about 69cm)

-Lining Fabric 1 yard (about 92cm)

-Contrast Fabric or Leather/Suede/Vinyl ¼ yard (20cm)
(If not using a contrasting fabric, just add on 1/4 yard to your main fabric measurement.)

-Buckram or fairly stiff interfacing (like Craft Bond 808 by Peltex) 1.5 yards (1.4meters)

-Peltex 70 Ultra Firm Stabilizer piece 7” x 14.25” (18 x 11 cm)

-Lightweight cotton fabric for pocket lining 1 yard.

-Piping – I used Wrights Maxi Piping product #303 – 3 packages (6 yards needed) www.wrights.com

3 zippers – 18” (45-46cm), 7” (18cm), and 3.25” (8cm)

3/8” (1cm) wide elastic – 28” (71cm)

This pattern will work best done in a home decor weight fabric. Experienced seamstresses will certainly be able to adapt fabric and interfacing choice to work with lighter or upholstry weight fabrics.

The rose fabric in the photo is Norfolk Rose from the Waverly Vintage Collection, and the red suede is Crypton Raja. I used tea stained muslin for the pocket lining.
