Conventionally, frames are 'sized' and named according to the capacity of the picture they can hold.
The outer dimensions are therefore a little larger, and the visible area a little smaller.

All our wood is solid hardwood sourced from a distributor in the UK. We never use anything artificial such as laminates, plywood, or MDF.

We have access to the following woods:
European Oak
American Black Walnut

Yes my supplier is FSC approved and PEFC accredited. Sustainable and responsible forestry is one of our core values.

All items are sanded to a fine grit and finished using Osmo Polyx Oil in matt.
This finish is 'Micro-porous' which means that although the wood is protected, it can still breathe as it is not completely sealed as it would be with a varnish. It also looks fantastic and really brings out the beauty of the grain in a natural way.

We do not use stains or dyes on our wood, unless there is a specific customer request to do so. We prefer to let the natural beauty of our premium materials come through unadulterated.

All our frames are glazed.
Our standard glazing material is crystal clear, super safe, 2mm acrylic. Larger custom orders are provided with 3mm cast acrylic.

Compared to glass it is easier to handle, cut and trim. It is more cost effective, as there is less waste and there are no breakages. It is much safer to put through the postal system, eliminating the risk of broken glass on your doorstep. Most importantly, once the protective film is removed from both sides, its optical qualities are excellent.

Our frames are well made, accurately described, and carefully packaged.
Should there be any reason for disappointment, please just let us know and we will put things right as our #1 priority.

I'm happy to say that we have a very low rate of items damaged in transit. We are well practised at preparing frames for their journey to your doorstep. When you've done thousands you get quite good at it!

We welcome custom orders, and glazing upgrades will fall under this. Just send us a custom order request for pricing information.

We have access to a fantastic supplier who can provide both extruded and cast acrylics in various thicknesses. They also offer a 99% UV filtering option in acrylic.

Please note however that we do not ship real glass simply due to the risks of breakage. Some customers have decided to purchase a frame from us without any glaze, and sourced their own glass locally as it normally easy enough to source.

We are based in the UK.
If you are buying from the EU, it is possible that you will now have import duties to pay when your parcel enters your country.
These are the customers responsibility so please be aware when purchasing.

Standard Shipping means that we will select the most appropriate method for shipping your items. The method we select will vary depending on the size, weight, value, and destination of the parcel. We don't select super economy super slow options. Tracking is not guaranteed.

If there is tracking, you can expect to receive an email from the courier.

Often the best international option is to send via standard postal service. This service does not come with in-transit tracking.

If tracking is important to you, shipping upgrades are available.

Since the COVID19 outbreak, International parcels have been moving much more slowly. In some cases, parcels have taken 7 weeks to transit from UK to USA/Canada. We appreciate how long this is to wait for an order to arrive, and we are hoping very much that normal service is resumed soon.

Delays can occur, especially through customs, and at the moment especially in trying to cross the Atlantic. This is unfortunately the world at present.

In normal times, we must wait 1 month before we can determine any parcel to be lost.
From 1-Jun-20 this policy has been updated such that we must now wait 6 weeks before we can declare as lost, and commence with refund or replacement. Rest assured that we will always reach your preferred resolution.

We appreciate that some shops and marketplaces commonly use discounts and coupons to encourage your purchase. We do not follow this practice. Our order book is healthy, our prices are set fairly, and our P&P costs accurately reflect the courier/packaging costs we incur in delivering your order.
