Description

Bayshore Industries produced novelty items like balloons, hobby horses, blow mold novelties and Halloween masks. Probably manufactured in the late 1960's, our Indian girl mask is listed in a 1972 Bayshore catalog as one of the masks in their Super Gloss Van Dam collection, priced at 49 cents. Molded plastic masks, sometimes called Vacuform, were popular in the 1950's and 60's, but that popularity waned in the 1970's. Made of molded plastic that has a glossy finish, our adorable Indian girl wears a red and gold headband with matching ties holding her ponytails. Her shy smile and dimpled cheeks, along with arched eyebrows over wide open eyes gives our Native American girl a delightful look that reminds us of the charm and innocence of Halloweens when we were kids. Advertised as being comfortable and ventilated, these masks were known for becoming hot and sticky with prolonged wearing. You could use our Bayshore mask as part of a costume, but because it is 50 + years old, we recommend you be very careful wearing it if you're interested in keeping it for long. Perfect for the collector who loves vintage Halloween products, or displayed on the wall for a splash of color and fun, our Indian girl mask will bring back memories of Halloween excitement and remind your guests and family what it was like back in the good old days.

Measuring 8 1/4" long x 6 3/4" wide, our Bayshore mask is in good vintage condition, without rips or cracks, and the color is vivid with little wear. The elastic string is attached only on one side, but that can be easily replaced. Her yellow feather is missing most of its fluff, but still has a good deal of it and the tag is still intact. When you display our Indian girl mask, your friends and family will approve of your retro good taste, as it brings back that haunted vintage vibe of Halloweens past.
