The process of Faux Chenille starts with layering of vintage and upcycled fabrics, and since they were thin fabrics, we over did it and ended up with eighteen layers! Half of that would had been more than enough but the result is a very rich and thick fabric.

Then stitching the whole package on the diagonal en cutting the layers between the stitches.

And after washing and drying the result is a multicolored fluffy fabric that strongly reminds us of fordite, that wonderful layered stuff obtained from the dried up layers of paint in the automobil industry, therefore the name fordite. Fordite cabochons are used in jewelry, but they are very rare nowadays because of new painting techniques that don't leave residues.
You can see the long work process here:

We finished the bag with upcycled yellow leather, this bag is perfect for any occassion and will catch many jealous eyes!
