Description

Beautiful blue small serving bowl from Mexico, in the Tonala style with dove (el palomar) and leaves. I have three total of these bowls, so if you'd like more than one, just choose your quantity from the pulldown menu in the upper right hand corner of the page.

The style is much like the Ken Edwards studio, but I believe these are from a contemporary of his, and probably from the mid-to-late 80s. The pottery is a lightweight, porous white clay, glazed all over in light blue, with darker inside banding and illustrations. The artwork inside the bowls is outlined in black, with white and earthy red accent dots.

They could either be used for extra-beefy single portions, or as small serving bowls, or even simply as decoration. They would look lovely in a display as well as on the table.

All of them are in very good vintage condition, with no major damage, but visible crazing in the top glaze coat on all. There are a couple of tiny nicks or fleabites on the outer rims, too, plus a few manufacturing crinkles and small glitches here and there-- to be expected in pottery like this.

They measure 8 3/16" in diameter, and 2 1/2" deep.
