Large Tote Bag, Amy Butler Fabric, Shoulder Bag, Quilted Patchwork, Handmade, Cottage Chic, Quilted, Purse, Bright Fabric, zip pocket
Description
This large tote bag was handmade by me using Amy Butler Cameo fabric. This a one of a kind. I do not have anymore of this fabric to make another patchwork like this right now. Love the bright colors in this bag.
The 5" squares have been sewn into a patchwork and quilted. The bag is virtually the same on both sides, and it has been double interfaced. This will give the bag structure, but is still soft to touch. Inside there is a triple divided pocket that runs the entire width on one side of the bag and a zippered pocket on the opposite side to which I have added a beaded fob. The lining of this bag is also Amy Butler.
Handles are patchwork / quilted, are padded and quadruple stitched. A magnetic snap has been used to keep the bag closed.
Nice large size on this tote, perfect for everyday, as a diaper bag on the go, or to hold your new found treasures at the flea market!
Appx. Measurements are:
Height - 11"
Width at top - 15"
Width at bottom - 13"
Depth - 4 1/4"
Straps are appx. 28" end to end.
This bag is completed and ready to ship
I love to make bags with both vintage and current fabrics in different styles, and for the most part they are one of a kind. I take great care in choosing color coordination and placement when doing the patchwork bags. Sometimes fidgeting over it..... Unless otherwise stated, all my bags are double interfaced. The exterior has a fleece type interface and the interior will have a light or heavy iron on bond. The weight of this is determined by what style of bag I am making. The straps are always fleece lined quilted with a triple or quadruple stitching. These are sewn through at least 3 times in the bags.
The choice of interior fabric is important to coordinate with the exterior, but I like to give it a little pop, so often you will get a different interior, no fun looking at a plain interior. You will find a triple divided pocket and usually an inset zippered pocket on the inside.
I like doing the patchwork because it is quilted and like the feel of the bag afterwards, but also because it allows me to play with the patterns and colors. I enjoy using vintage fabric because this will make for the most part a one of a kind bag.
