Straight from the hedgerows of Devonshire,Cornwall and Dorset in the UK, are these beautiful sapphire coloured fruit of the blackthorn tree known as sloe berries.
Most Americans are familiar with these berries when I mention the drink, Sloe Gin Fizz.

The blackthorn tree produces masses of these deep blue berries during the autumn months and supposedly become prime pickings after the first frost to flavour your favourite alcoholic drink for your Christmas tipple.

Besides being a wonderful ingredient for drinks and jams, the fruit of the blackthorn tree are also extremely powerful addition to your magical herbal cupboard.
These magical berries contain all the same potent properties as the wood and thorns of the Blackthorn Tree itself, some say they are indeed, even more powerful.
