This listing is for the fourth of 4 payments for the Merrye sisters, to be paid over a 90 day layaway. (Total price of the two dolls is $999 plus insured shipping ( $65 to the UK)--shipping fee has been added to the final payment.) The Merryes will ship within 48 hours of the final payment being received.

"This has gone well beyond the boundaries of prudence and good taste."

Here are little Elizabeth and Virginia Merrye, who suffer from a rare genetic condition known as The Merrye Syndrome, so-called because it's only known occurrence is among the descendents of one Ebenezer Merrye. It is believed that eventually the victim of the Merrye Syndrome may even regress beyond the prenatal level, revering to a pre-human condition of savagery and cannibalism.....which has most definitely occurred in the case of these sinister sisters.

My tribute to Jack Hill's 1964 classic horror-comedy was actually my very first Blythe custom, but as they were done before I had much experience customizing dolls, I wasn't happy with the result. I have recently redone them with all new face carving and makeup, as well as newly painted eye chips, and they now truly capture the spirit of these bad little girls.

Virginia Merrye loves to play spider, and she comes with her "stingers" and web, along with the rocking chair she used to trap Uncle Peter in her web. Elizabeth is supposed to prevent Virginia from playing spider, but she's not afraid to get her hands bloody.....the girls also come with a custom stand (featuring a trap door with brother Ralph peaking out) and two hand painted tarantulas.

Custom work I've done on these girls includes:
-Hand carved faces on factory Blythe face plates.
-Eyes boggled and gaze corrected.
-Sleep eyes with custom pull strings and decoupaged spiderweb eyelids.
-Makeup applied with high quality pastels and sealed with MSC UV Flat Cut.
-Outfits designed and sewn by me.
-Custom stand and accessories.
-Three pairs hand painted eye chips and one pair decoupaged spider eyes for each sister.
-Fully rooted alpaca hair. These were the first reroots I did and my lack of experience at the time is reflected in the price---the hair is very full and pretty and you will not notice flaws when they are on display, but there are some beginner mistakes apparent on close inspection.
