Why is the King on a Bicycle? Did he just want to go for a ride? Well, actually (and strangely enough) he was on his way to have his portrait drawn by a Street Artist.

The King could not just go on his own, he needs his entourage of Red Carpet, Robe lifting assistants with rather worried smug looks on their faces.
Tony let's us in on the story a bit right here-

The King On A Bicycle

When a street artist boasts to a girl he has drawn the King of England himself, she doesn’t believe him.
“Rubbish!” is her response. “A king would never step from a fine horse drawn carriage to sit on a wooden box and have his portrait drawn.”
“Wrong!” said the artist. “He er…came on a bicycle.” Then he embarked on making up a story of how the King rode a bicycle to get his portrait painted by the street artist.
In fear of losing his head, (Being a head artist) the artist took his time. So long did the king sit on the wooden box that by the time his portrait was complete the king’s fine coat had turned to rags, his beard had grown to the floor, and he had lost so much weight so that all in all he looked like a beggar. Although the courtiers gasped upon seeing the final portrait. the king declared. “It’s a masterpiece!”
“It is?” said the artist, thinking he was about to lose his head.
“You have made me look like a king with humility - a king who looks like one of his subjects!"
“I did?” said the artist. “Oh! Er…Yes! I did!" Exactly what I was trying to do.
And from that day on the king would walk amongst his subjects looking like a beggar, and because the people didn’t know which beggar was the king they treated all beggars like kings.

And so herein lies the illustration from that silly part where the Kings Rides to town on his royal bicycle-

This lovely poster measures 18x24 inches.
