Description

Squirrel Nutkin aint got nothin' on this little character...but in reality, it's based on my childhood recollections of a newborn orphaned squirrel that my mother adopted which grew into a great companion for my little sister Buzz--Sammy the Squirrel. Probably inspired by the impertinence of Beatrix Potter's Squirrel Nutkin, and/or the physical version of Crico (sheet rock and spackling compound, anyone?)--not to be confused with Crico Word Game. I used reclaimed scraps of German Antique glass (that I was in the right place at the right time--nosin' around), and assorted drawn antique and hand cast glass. The art glass squirrel has a hand painted eye...permanent glass paint, eh?

What is reality, you ask? try reading Tolstoy's "What Men Live By", "Master and Man", and the "Kreutzer Sonata"--perfunctory (or is that obligatory? or is that oboe solo?), accordion, bass and mandolin in the background while slurping a lovely Kwak from Belgium, and nibbling an assortment of olives from Emily's Lebanese Deli.

By the way, the sun catcher takes up about a 5" x 5" space...that'd be about 25 square inches in the scheme of things...and don't forget, due to the handmade nature of this piece, slight variations are to be expected and applauded...as in nature...

Shipping policies

USPS Priority and Priority International--sure it's more expensive, but your stuff isn't rattling around with seventy pound dumb-bell sets and concrete slabs!

Korrvu packaging cartons are uncannily cool--your glass piece is actually suspended between film in the center of the carton! For smaller sun catchers, I may use foam wrap, inside a bubble wrap mailer, inside a corrugated carton.

First Class Mail International and Parcel Post is another option if you're not in a hurry and trust the Korrvu packaging carton (they're pretty indestructible)--in most cases, shipping costs would drop dramatically from Priority and Priority International. Send me a convo with what you're looking at, and I can figure out the USPS cost before you buy.

Odds n Ends regarding International Orders...

If you desire insurance, please indicate in "Message to Seller" upon purchase and continue payment. You will receive an invoice with the remaining balance.

Additionally...

I do not refund for packages lost/unclaimed/undeliverable.
I am not responsible for taxes and duties that may incur. All international orders are marked "Merchandise" and will not be marked as "Gift" as this is illegal for my business.

Please check your customs policies to ensure safe delivery.

I especially enjoy wranglin' a raw concept from yer lumpy, side-stepped into my slightly...fer something totally different. Did someone say esoteric?
