Description

Beautiful ZAPOTEC INDIAN WEAVING

From: OAXACA VALLEY, MEXICO

WEAVER : NESTOR JIMENEZ

DESIGN : CADENAS

SIZE : 4' X 6 1/2'

VINTAGE, 1960 ( 70S )

We purchased this lovely ZAPOTEC RUG in TAOS, NEW MEXICO, in the early 80s, while on a Cross Country Trip. It is a gorgeous, one-of-a-kind INDIAN WEAVING, made by weaver: NESTOR JIMENEZ.
It has been hanging in my Living Room, as a Focal Point, for all these years. Now that I'm down sizing I regret to have to part with this wonderful piece of " Mexican Art."
It is Wool, created of Natural Dyes.

" The quality of these handcrafted textiles is testimony to the Zapotec Indians traditional culture and family cohesion, and serves as a reminder of the level of skill possessed by master craftsmen, such as, Nestor Jimenez, a level that has by-and-large been lost to the steady march of "progress' in the United States today."

Carry out the tradition while enjoying this, work of art, in your home, knowing that it will increase in value !
