This is a Coach Harrison Brief Style No 5283 made of mahogany leather and brass hardware. This bag has Coach style number 5283 stamped on the Creed which also states it was made in the United States. This is a very beautiful Coach Bag with an unusual envelope style side pocket. The major flaw with this bag is that the strap is missing which is why it is priced substantially less than the other Harrison Briefs we have listed.

This bag is unique. it has four separate compartments that assist you in organizing your daily tools. The front gusseted pocket has an organizational panel with pouches for smart phones, cards, pens, pencils and just about any other item you might need or want to store. This compartment is very secure because has a leather strap and buckle closure. It's like having a Coach bag permanently affixed to your briefcase that allows you to store items you need on a daily basis , like your phone, keys, and wallet. The middle compartments are perfect for carrying your files, books, laptop, IPad or other items. The back slip pocket is handy for that file you need immediate access to or just for a few readily accessible legal pads. The size of this bag gives the Coach Organizer Bag a run for its money in terms of space. It completely beats out the Coach Organizer bag in terms of quality. This bag was built traditional style with thick soft supple leather rather than with nylon and netting like the organizer. If you are a fan of vintage leather Coach you choose this bag over the 'Organizer' and get all the old school style with your new organization.

This is what Coach had to say about this Harrison Brief when it listed it back in the day:

"Harrison Brief. No. 5283. $478 [ $478 in 1996 is equivalent to $707 today]

Front gusseted pocket with organizational panel. Outside back pocket. Inside back double open pockets. 46 inch adjustable strap detaches [Strap missing on bag listed in Etsty] . 17" x 12" x 4". Mahogany shown. Black, British tan. [ see the Catalog Listing in the Collage in photo number 5 above]

Dimensions:

Length: 17 inches
Height: 12 inches
Width: 4 inches or more in at least 3 of its compartments

Condition:

This bag is in very good condition. It has no rips, tears or holes. it is structurally sound as it was the day it was born. Its major flaw is the missing carrying strap. Like most vintage bags there is some scuffing but unlike most vintage bags these days the scratches and scuffs are at a minimum. I have conditioned this bag with a product known as Leather CPR and it has turned out very nicely. Please see photos of the most accurate depiction of this bag.
