Description

this is really RARE and incredible, very beautiful collectible item!
Victorian or a little later pendant /clasp crafted in solid 14k yellow gold (not hallmarked as normal for the period, but tested).
the MOST unusual and amazing about this item - it has 2 clasp tongues which can be taken out turning this clasp into a pendant (with 2 openings) which can be worn on a chain. So it is like 2 items at the same time - big clasp for 4 strands bracelet or necklace in a minute can be turned into a pendant and worn on a chain! I never seen a Victorian clasp like this before! it is magical:-)
I really think I should keep it and do not sell:-)
the photos do not do justice to this item! I could not capture the color of these turquoise cabs!. the centre cabochon of natural turquoise set in multi prong setting to hold the gem securely! it has greenish shade. the centre cab is surrounded by beautiful blue possibly Persian turquoise and all of the cluster is finished by sparkly rose cut diamonds which set it Georgian type of setting ((made of sterling silver - but more likely palladium and/or platinum (tests positive for some platinum content as well as positive for some silver content) mixed with silver as it does not tarnish!)
the diamonds very sparkly on the sun or halogen light and at min 1.8-2mm each, but difficult to measure because part of it hidden under settings. so it is more likely over 2mm each, backs are open and let light hit the stones!
the clasp is big and weights approx 12-12.8g!
all of the cabochons are present and looks like all if them set secure and no replacements.
because the clasp construction is big and heavy/thick and the tongues have no beads attached to them, it is a little hard to open/pull them out to open the clasp. it should not be the case when this clasp gets strung into 4 rows of the beads - the beads will give required heaviness/weight to the tongues, adjusting them properly to the main cluster part - the beads will make the construction complete and help to work smoothly!
So it can be used as clasp for 4strands necklace or bracelet. also if remove both tongues, it can be worn as a big pendant on a chain or on a small diameter pearls or beads necklace!
this item came from England, but there is a possibility it was made in another part of the World (maybe somewhere in Europe).
the turquoise necklace on the first 2 photos only for demonstration purposes to show how it looks when worn and can be purchase separate - this turquoise round beads is a vintage broken necklace of stabilized blue turquoise. it consist from 2 strands(49g) and these beads can be used to make a bracelet. let me know if you would like to purchase them together with this clasp and I will list it separate.
I have many more photos - please contact me. sorry only 5 can be posted in the listing.
I offer layaway for my items and if you have any questions, please let me know.
