Description

My granddaughter wanted a fairy for Christmas (well, my son asked on her behalf since she was only 18 months at the time), and I had a fantastic idea for a Christmas Fairy that was just out of this world (& no one else has one here)! There's now 2 ideas I'm now working with because of his suggestion (Summer 2017). I began working on her right after I stopped playing with the canes (I found them so intriguing but I couldn't get some of them to come out right, then couldn't figure out what to put them on! LOL - I wound up making ornaments with one). My business isn't really ornaments; it's Fairy Garden, Copper Garden Art, & just as an homage, I make wonderful Mardi Gras masks that are intentionally off brand They are really cool - check them out. I really didn't mean to go off brand so much for the 2016 holiday season, I just got hung up on learning how to work with clay. So, I began working with creating fairies & found a good start for doing faces/bodies but the one I found was a side view that's really meant more for hanging than for placing in the Fairy Garden. I want one that sits up or even stands. I think standing though is currently way out of my league... she was making me crazy ala working with my Wind Chimes - check them out, too (what a mess that was, but I got them done as well) B) I worked & worked on it until I finally put her down; it just wasn't in the cards. Maybe next Christmas... Anyway, I was very disappointed; I thought & thought of what to give her instead.

It popped in my head one day when my granddaughter came over, Alaina just loves Elmo! I mean like she won't go in the car without him, won't go to sleep without the other one - I think she has maybe 5 or 6 Elmos. She's totally crazy about him! So, that's where I got the idea to make him. Also, I remember the very first episode of the show. (I'm dating myself, I know but this is cool...) I was getting dressed for my first day of school & had a penny in my mouth I didn't want to put down for some reason - so, I thought putting it in my mouth would be a good idea. Kids... So, as I'm getting dressed there's this cool new show I found on PBS & wound up swallowing the darn penny! ROTFL That's why I remember all of it. Swallowed a penny on my first day of school & I found the very first episode on a channel we hardly watched (this is before cable, so there was only the local channels, plus Public TV, and we even got lucky and received the Canadian channel since we were so close to Windsor.

Cute polymer clay ornament based on Elmo. He stands about 3" high and can come with or without the brass eyehole to hang him from the tree, flat bottom, or with a copper stake to place on uneven surfaces (such as your fairy garden!). Where ever you want to put him. He's adorable...
