Antique port wine chariot from the 19th century. Of French manufacture the cradle is silver plated with a brass top rim. Highly decorative patterns to the wheels and bodywork. There is some age wear to the wheels but overall condition is good. Length 12 inches.

How to use from an article on the etiquette of serving port:- Where port is served , the bottle on it's coaster stands before the host, the tablecloth having been removed before the ritual begins. He pours for whoever is on his right - to save this person, seated in the honourable place, from having to wait until last to be served. Then the bottle is rolled along the polished wood table in a wheeled silver chariot and it is always passed clockwise (to the left). Note: Drumbuie bottle used just as an example. This not meant for a standard 750ml wine bottle.
