Here's a lovely porcelain vase for the person who is looking for something a little less conventional. Sometimes, as a potter, one has to let loose a bit and see what happens. This vase was thrown on the wheel and fired in an electric kiln. This vase has large ornamental looped handles that give it the appearance of being wider than it actually is. The exterior surface has a wonderful tactile quality and in my experience, people are drawn to pick it up and feel the surface. Check out the detail photographs to get an idea of the intricate surface decoration. After trimming, wet black slip was splattered on the surface of the pot. Then after the piece was completely dry, shellac resist was painted on with a small brush protecting the splashy marks. Additional marks were added with the shellac and after the shellac dried, the unprotected areas were dissolved away with water creating a texture that begs to be touched. The dimensions are 10 inches wide to the edges of the handles, 7.5 inches deep and 9 inches tall.

Shipping within the US is included in the price and if you're country is not listed below, please send an email to go2sew(at)gmail(dot)com and I will package the piece and take it to the post office and reply to your email with a shipping cost to that particular location.
