My love of textured clay combined with my appreciation of the power of words inspired this collection of inspirational plaques that I call "Written in Mudd". Each ceramic plaque is handmade and one of a kind. The clay is decorated and textured with a variety of items which includes pretty much anything that can be pressed in clay. The quotes are applied then permanently bisque fired into the clay. I do not use decals. The piece is then finished with the glaze and refired at a higher temperature. The final step is applying the hangers which are copper or silver colored wire that is individually shaped for each piece. All pieces are signed "Mudd" on the back.

This particular piece measures 7" tall including the wire hanger. The plaque itself is 4 1/2 " x 7", and features the beautiful message from Saint Mother Teresa "Let us always meet each other with a smile, for the smile is the beginning of love.". Glazed in sepia tones and finished with a shaped copper wire hanger.
