Description

This item looks superb. It's wrong on so many levels which I shall explain shortly, but this doesn't detract from the overall appearance of this awesome white Sigillum Dei.

This is made from a mixture of waxes - about 10% soy wax to get the rich white colouration (pure paraffin wax tends to be quite translucent), paraffin wax 80% and stearin 10%. I chucked a handful of white beeswax in there too that i had hanging around.

The main side print quality is the best I have managed to achieve yet. You cannot imagine how difficult it is to print onto a wax surface that has no absorption or bonding qualities and is repellent to basically everything apart from the dog. After umpteen attempts to print correctly on the reverse and nearly losing my mind and my wife in the process, I settled for what you see here.

The other thing is that the disk is fatter towards one side and thinner to the other. This would be great if it didnt go from right to left (fat to thin) and instead went from top to bottom, as this would kind of tilt it to the viewer. But well, we can't have everything I s'pose.

The whole thing has been coated thinly with varnish to protect the print. With the besswax disks I coat them several times for a thicker coat, but I didn't want the varnish so thick that it would tint the disk.

It is quite hefty, weighing in at 929grams, and measures 22.5cm across.

If you want a more professional piece, please check out my other items, and if you want the absolute sigillum perfection, then you ought to check out the other sellers (Enochian.org and WoodenGhosts) on Etsy, as those guys have got some serious skills. I bet they can't print onto wax though, the losers.
