Forget the scratchy, plastic-y store bought pads that eat up your money every month! WeeEssentials Nursing Pads are soft, comfortable, and help keep you dry without throwing your money away along with the disposables!

A fun cotton flannel print is on the top side (put this side closest to your breast,) and plain white flannel on the back helps to keep your pads from showing through your shirt.

The pads in this listing are approximately 5" in diameter to fit the majority of cup sizes with lots of protection for even a "D" cup. (If you need something for a larger cup size, please contact me for a custom order)

They're made with an rayon-from-bamboo and organic cotton core to pull moisture away and a breathable, waterproof layer of PUL. These are great for day or night!

**Note: The FTC requires that bamboo fabrics be labeled as "rayon" because of the process used to turn bamboo into fabric. This requirement doesn't affect the absorbency or fabric itself- just what we are legally required to call it.**

Practical stuff: Usage will depend on your leakage. Early in the nursing relationship, most mothers leak a lot. You'll find you will have to change your nursing pads at least a couple times a day. As the nursing relationship progresses, many mothers find they can easily go through the daytime using only one set of pads, and changing them out at bedtime. For your breast and baby's health, please change out nursing pads at or before saturation (in other words, don't leave wet pads on if you don't have to!)

There’s a common misperception that PUL creates a dark, wet, germ-breeding ground, and that fleece does not. I make pads with both, and *both* will breed bacteria.

Fleece or no waterproofing at all is slightly more breathable, so some moisture in your pad will evaporate into the air, keeping you drier - at least in theory. However, in reality, most of the moisture will stay right in the pad until it is removed. The breast prevents much evaporation on one side, and your bra and outer clothing on the other.

Because of this, the best thing you can do to prevent infections and thrush is to change your pads as often as necessary:

If your pad is soaked, you need to change it. If you have been wearing the same pad for more than 8 hours and your pad has any fluid in it, you need to change it. Why? It is better to change your pads frequently to keep your breast dry and to remove the bacteria that will multiply in a used pad. This will help prevent infections and thrush, which thrive in moisture.

Care: Place in lingerie bag, machine wash cool, tumble dry low.
