This is a very nice 1948 D One Cent Coin. The coin has been inspected and graded by the official grading service Numismatic Guaranty Corporation or NGC. The MS 66 Grade Means: Above average strike. Full mint luster is required for the MS 66 level. A mint state 66 graded coin should have above average eye appeal and be considered attractive for the issue. A few, small scattered marks may be present, but not a single, large obvious mark that detracts from the overall nice appeal of the coin. The coin is 95% Copper and 5% Tin and Zinc.
This is a great coin to start or add to a collection. It would make a nice gift for anyone.
About the coin: Many collectors began their numismatic career with Wheat Ear Lincoln cents,"Wheaties". Wheat Reverse cents were produced at the Philadelphia, Denver, and San Francisco mints.
