Description

Learn how to make this chunky knit hat that works up in no time. You will use a bulky jumbo yarn or wool roving and size 50 knitting needles to make this adorable hat.

The pattern comes as a PDF file, which should become available to download as soon as your payment clears.

This is not the actual knit hat! If you are interested in purchasing a finished knit item, please contact me for a custom order.

Difficulty: Advanced beginner. You will need to know how to knit and purl to make this hat. You will also need to know how to do a K2TOG decrease. You do not need to know how to knit in the round, as this is knit on straight needles and seamed.

Cost: The jumbo acrylic yarn costs about $7 for 1 skein. Wool roving is about $25-$40/pound. The needles are usually less than $10 at craft stores.

OMG I love this basket. My only lament is that I made it a little while ago and still can't decide what to store in it! But I will find something, for now it looks beautiful sitting on my bedroom floor. I plan to make more in the future, even as gifts. I struggled with the tips for gluing cut ends of the rope together, that didn't really work for me. However I was able to hide those pieces pretty well on the basket. Very happy with it, and it was so fun to make!

This is an easy and fun project!!! I made mine out of water skiing rope (even though the pattern said to use cotton) - it is really cute and will be great for dog toys out on the deck! i even did it a little bigger than the large (for more toys), so it's a little floppy - I would stick to the 300'! Easy pattern though! Although, (unrelated to the pattern) it is a little awkward knitting with rope... casting on was a bit of a challenge, and it gets a little heavy.
