This is an incredible antique doctors bag. It is made from genuine walrus skin with brass trim, sliding closures and a push button key lock in the center. It was made by Security Trunk Works out of Minneapolis, MN. The bag opens in the carpet bag style with a hinged frame that holds the top open so that the doctor can work out of it without continuously needing to open and close the bag.

Inside of the bag is a large pocket along one long side which snaps closed at the center. On the opposite side there is a small tear, approximately 1.5" (3.8 cm) in the leather lining. On the bottom of the lining is the original paper tag in cream and red which reads "Security Trunk Works Minneapolis, Minn.". The lining is grey in color.

The exterior of the bag is black, textured walrus skin. There is a single leather handle and 6 brass button feet on the bottom. It is stamped on the bottom "#18 Genuine Seal, Walrus 112". There is some wear to the outside of the case typical for its 100+ years. The doctors bag measures 18" (45.7 cm) by 9" (22.9 cm) on the bottom and approximately 10" (25.4 cm) high. The handle measures 8.5" (21.6 cm) long.

This satchel is in great vintage condition and would make a great decorator piece, theater prop or could even be used as a functional bag.
