Description

Reduced from $52 to $35 Stylish 70's silk crepe scarf by Mme. Gres, Paris. Wonderful simple colour scheme of the era.
Shades of Pink, green and khaki. Hand rolled edges
It is 33"x 33" In VGC and stored unused for some time.

Grès was launched by Germaine Émilie Krebs, also known as Alix Barton and later as ‘Madame Grès’ in Paris in 1942. She made her name in the early 40's dressing such actresses as Marlene Dietrich, Greta Garbo and later Jacquline Kennedy, using her choice of fabric and trademark 'Sumptuous Gathered Silk'.
Madame Grès was a trained sculptress who often claimed that working with fabric was the same thing, for her, as working with stone. She wanted to be a sculptor, and she found her medium in haute couture. Under her creative stewardship, Grès became one of France’s most vaunted fashion houses.

From a major collection
These vintage scarves are in overall very good condition: perhaps very minor marks, commensurate with age, but not noticeable once worn. The colours are still strong and there is a lovely sheen. I always bring any marks found to your attention.
On this occasion 2 - 3 very small marks. Very good condition, soft and tactile.

Silk scarves must be dry cleaned and not washed. Note that small blemishes are not always seen due to the folds when the scarf is worn.

Too good for a collection.

I combine shipping costs if items are bought at the same time
