If you are looking for a special gift, choose hand-coloured prints over chromolithographs. While admiring the print, keep in mind that all the coloured lines and filled-in colour were painstakingly done by hand.

A hand-coloured plate of wild flowers by the well-known botanical illustrator, John Sowerby (1825-1879). Printed and hand-coloured in the UK.

These are very fine illustrations and are some of the best available. They retail for up to $40 each elsewhere.

The plate is in very good condition. The left margin is jagged, as shown in the last photo, due to the binding. The original page with accompanying text will be included.
