One Skein of Recycled Sari Silk Yarn Multicolored.

Product Description

Content: 100% Silk
Weight: Heavy Worsted weight - Bulky
Gauge:4 - 5 sts /5 rows = 1" on # 11-13 needles

Amount: 80-90 yards / 90-100 grams skin

Care: Hand Wash and Dry Flat

Recycled sari silk yarn knits/crochets up really quick, soft, silky and shiny so it is best used for projects like scarves, neck warmers, cowls, shawls, stoles, bags, pouches and cushions. I have several scarves listed at Etsy that I've made with recycled sari silk. They have always been popular because of the many colors in each skein. The scarf will match almost any outfit or jacket you pick. At art festivals my customers come back to tell me over and over again how many compliments they get on the scarves woven with sari silk.

The finished knit, woven, or crocheted product will have a strong and firm quality and at the same time has a soft and slightly fuzzy texture. They are great for textile embellishment as well. The fuzzy texture gives the finished product a bit of a distressed look.

This yarn is made from 100% recycled sari silk yarn left over during the sari manufacturing process. The recycled sari silk fibers are handpicked and hand spun in India in cottage industries that I directly sourced from years ago. I didn't know whether I'd be able to continue to get it over the years so I drastically purchased too much. Time to de-stash some of it.

I wove a rug out of it once using Aunt Lydia's rug yarn and the sari silk. Came out gorgeous and sold quickly at an art festival.

No two skeins are exactly alike.
